Carney on August 31, 1943, a blessed union of 51 years until his death on October 8, 1995. Vera always enjoyed playing the piano, singing, sewing and painting, of which she won a first place award at Munson Williams Proctor Institute. She also enjoyed watching and feeding the wildlife in her yard, especially her blue jays and squirrels. Vera is survived by her daughters, Sandra Riggleman and Dave Johnson and Letitia (Tish) and son-in-law Joseph Sarcone, both of Utica, three grandchildren, Steven Sarcone and fiancée Nikki Sergott, Joseph Sarcone and his wife, Alyson and Marissa McCarren and her husband, Timothy. She also leaves behind one great grandson, Carter Joseph Sarcone. Mrs. Carney’s funeral will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 9:30 from Historic Old St. John’s Church, Utica.
