Mr. John P. Voce, 78, of NY Mills, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford. John was born in Utica, on January 26, 1942, the son of John and Caroline (Gadicola) Voce. He was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Proctor High School and MVCC. John honorably served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. On March 25, 2017, after a 50-year engagement, John was united in marriage, with the love of his life, Carol A. DiNigro. At one time, John was employed with the radio receiver division of General Electric Company and for many years until his retirement, with PAR Technology Corporation. John enjoyed golf, bowling, horse racing and games of chance. He was a member of American Legion post 1376, New Hartford and was a parishioner of St. Mary of Mount Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish in Utica. John will be remembered as a fun loving, quick witted gentleman who had heart of gold. John is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Geraldine Voce of N. Utica and Anthony and Francine Voce of Utica; in-laws, Giovanni DiNigro of Cassville, Madeline Voce of NY Mills, Marie Cavoly of Schuyler, Janice DiNigro of West Winfield and Carmen and Maria DiNigro of Utica; his Godchildren, Eric Voce of FL and Gina Cromer of NY Mills; dear friends, Ralph and Mary Chico of Utica, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Voce, two brothers-in-law, Joseph DiNigro and Robert Cavoly and two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Walker and Johanne DiNigro. John’s funeral will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary of Mount Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.
