Barbara A. Goodhines, 73, of Utica, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford with her loving family by her side. Barbara was born in Boonville, NY, on September 14, 1947, the daughter of Raymond and Ethel (Tuffey) Goodhines and received her education in Boonville. At one time, Barbara was employed with Trinkaus Manor Motor Lodge and later with Heritage Health Care Center in Utica until her retirement. She enjoyed camping in the summer at her sister’s camps at Brantingham Lake and Raquette lake and spending time at her nephew’s camp at Otter Lake. Barbara also enjoyed bus trips and especially bringing her nieces and nephews to various fairs and bazaars. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica. Barbara is survived by three sisters and two brothers, Sally and John Raab of Utica, Joyce and Robert Jennings of Utica, Kenneth and Susan Goodhines of Middleville, Ellen Saramaha of Utica and Philip Goodhines of Clinton, as well as several nieces, and nephews and great nieces and nephews, including her Goddaughter, Amy Jennings. She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Ethel, three sisters, Shirley Pettys, Claire Goodhines and Phyllis Schmidt and her longtime companion, Robert L. Price. Barbara’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Our lady of Lourdes Church in Utica, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Utica at the convenience of her family. Visitation for family and friends is Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, prior to the funeral. Barbara’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, IMCU, for the wonderful care and compassion you provided to her.
