Edward P. Ritzel, 71, of Horseheads, NY, formerly of Utica, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.
Edward was born in Utica on November 6, 1949, a son of Charles and Mary (Brannigan) Ritzel. He was raised and educated locally attending UFA. At one time he was employed at Remington Arms in Ilion.
Edward is survived by a daughter, Michelle Ritzel-Berube and a son, Edward P. Ritzel Jr., both of Utica, ten sisters and brothers, Charles (Joan) Ritzel, Fl, Ronald (Judy) Ritzel, West Frankfort, Marcia Beaton, Fl, Judith (Lou) Scire, N. Utica, Michael (Diana) Ritzel, KS, James (Jeanne) Ritzel, Sauquoit, Jacqueline Meyer, Utica, Patricia (David) Ameduri, Pamela (Jerry) Calabrese, OK and Phyllis (Bob) Evans, Waterville and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Maureen Ritzel in 1956 and a brother, Robert J. Ritzel in 2011.
A service for Mr. Ritzel will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 12:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home are prior to the service from 10-12.
