Tom would often fly into Highland Airport in Frankfort, owned by my parents Laddie and Alice Leitz. I remember him flying in with his Pietenpol and spending some time in the restaurant and talking with other pilots.
My mother and father always seemed to enjoy his visits and his jovial mannerisms. I didn’t know him well, but times I saw him he had a smile on his face and was engaged in sharing stories or airplane “talk” with others.
He seemed to me a person who lived life to the fullest, full of “gusto”.
To his wife and family, so sorry for your loss.
