Obituary of Beverly L. Evans

Beverly L. Evans, 73, of N. Utica, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Faxton – St. Luke’s Healthcare. Beverly was born in New Hartford on March 18, 1947, a daughter of the late Stanley and Alexandria (Olsson) Bonsteel. At New Hartford Methodist Church on January 24, 1970, Beverly was united in marriage to James K. Evans. She started her working career as a nurse’s aide at St. Luke’s Hospital, welcoming patients into the newly constructed Allen Calder Wing and then later until her retirement worked as an O.B. Technician at St. Luke’s Hospital. Throughout her life Beverly always enjoyed camping, doing arts and crafts, going for rides, bowling in leagues and going to the casino, especially with her family. Beverly is survived by her husband, James, her three children, Betty Jean Evans and Randy Inman, of Floyd, Beverly Heather Evans and fiancée, Joseph Khoury, of Herkimer and James (Lisa) Evans, of Utica and her canine companion, Casper. Beverly was predeceased by a brother, Edward Bonsteel. Calling hours for Mrs. Evans will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 2 – 4 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, with a service to be held at 4:00. Masks must be worn, social distancing and contact tracing will be implemented. A spring burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery, New Hartford. Those so wishing may make donations to the Diabetes Association or the Stevens – Swan Humane Society.
