Mary Moore Dangler, 90, passed away in Utica on January 28, 2021 after a brief illness. Born October 26, 1930 to Fenton and Lillian Moore, Mary attended Sacred Heart Grammar school and Whitesboro High. She married James Dangler in 1950, moving two blocks away from her childhood home in West Utica to the house his parents built on Noyes Street, where they raised their five boys in the place she called home for the rest of her life. Mary was devoted to her family, friends and the Church of the Sacred Heart. She especially enjoyed spending summer weekends at the family camp at Piseco Lake. Mary retired from Bank of America in 1996. She was a kind and generous soul, always thinking of and caring for others first. Mary cherished several life-long friendships and volunteered for many years at the soup kitchen of Grace Church, Downtown Utica. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James, and is survived by her brother, Fenton Moore; her sons and their spouses: Jim, Steve and Jamie, Jon and Edie, Mike and Linda and Brian and Erin; ten grandchildren and great grandchildren: Matt, Easton, Beck, Luke, Adam, Ryan, Jenna, Maddison, Josie and Mitch, as well as her loving companion, Tom Mahar. A funeral Mass will be held at The Church of the Sacred Heart & St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa at a time to be determined in the future. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Oneida County Food Bank in her name.
