Catherine J. Podkowka, 65, of Rome, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021, at Rome Memorial Hospital.
Catherine was born in Utica, on May 17, 1955, a daughter of Francis and Barbara (Richmond) Carey. Catherine was employed at Turning Stone Casino. She loved to play Bingo.
Catherine is survived by two daughters, Johann Benson, Whitesboro and Chantel Crep, Clinton; four grandchildren, Sara Burdick, Raymond Benson, Marc Benson and Trent Crep; two great grandchildren, Kathryn Burdick and Naomi Burdick; a special sidekick, Santonio Moreno, Rome; a sister, Barbara (William) VanCourt, Whitesboro; three brothers, Francis Carey, Rome, Raymond (Linda) Carey, Rome and John Carey and Karen Wheatly, Cassville and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Francis.
Calling hours for Catherine will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 10-12 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. All COVID protocals must be followed. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus B & M Cemetery in Whitesboro.
