I grew up in Utica and lived next door to Eddie, his brother Frank, his parents and his uncles -- on Nellis Place near Addison-Miller Pool and Playground. That was a long time ago and simpler times. We would play basketball just down the street during the Fall and Winter (had to shovel the snow off the court) and baseball and football during the Spring, Summer and Fall just across the street in Margaret Park. All the kids in the neighborhood would gather -- the Reardons, Jack Fish, Allen Bielecki (sp?), Jan Kuda, Eric Lindell, Frank and Eddie, the Herbowy's (sp?). Forgive my errors. As I said, a long time. But Eddie was always open and straight-forward and had a kind way about him. One doesn't recognize those qualities as a child; that comes later in life. I was sad to hear of his passing but not surprised in reading his obituary about his love for his family, his motorcycle and his pets. My condolences. Alan Balutis
