Obituary of Eileen H. Hajdasz

Mrs. Eileen (Beal) Hajdasz, passed away peacefully at home, on February 24, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 82. Eileen was born in Utica, on May 6, 1938, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Meyers) Beal and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. Eileen married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Albert Hajdasz, and the couple shared 62 loving years together. She was co-owner and secretary/bookkeeper of A.H. Excavating, Inc., prior to her retirement. Eileen was a devoted and loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She focused on her love of family, as well as being a devout Catholic, who could be found praying the rosary. She was an avid gardener who also loved watching her flock of birds outside her window, cardinals in particular. She was a proud co-founder of the Remsen Ladies Auxiliary. Eileen loved taking photos of her family and friends, and also enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports, making sure to never miss a game or an activity. She had a passion for cooking with her own canned fruits and vegetables and her family fondly remembers her famous spaghetti dinners. Eileen is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Albert, and their children; Wayne Hajdasz of Waterville, New York, Cheryl McIntyre and her husband Brian of Charlottesville, Virginia, Linda Driscoll and her husband Butch of Enfield, Connecticut, John Hajdasz and his wife Edrean of Trophy Club, Texas, Joel Hajdasz and his wife Kelly of Remsen, New York, Shawn Hajdasz and his wife Laine of Utica, New York; grandchildren, Carissa Hajdasz and fiancé Patrick Shanahan, Danielle Hajdasz, Kaitlin McIntyre, Brendan McIntyre, Ethan McIntyre, Jesse Driscoll, Jodi Driscoll, Leland Hajdasz, London Hajdasz, Olivia Hajdasz, Grace Hajdasz, Jordan Hajdasz, Taylor Hajdasz, Sydney Hajdasz, Shawn Hajdasz Jr.; great grandchild, David Treen; former daughters-in-law, Robin Hajdasz of Remsen New York and Tanya Decker of Waterville, New York and Sister, Monica Stefanski of Marcy, New York, as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph & Agnes and her sister Roberta Blair. The Hajdasz family would like to extend a special thank you to Eileen’s caretakers Tracy Neal and daughters. Mrs. Hajdasz’s funeral will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of The Rosary Church, Burrstone Rd., New Hartford, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Face coverings are required and social distancing and contact tracing protocols must by observed. Her Rite of Committal and burial, will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro.
