Michael P. Sbiroli, 41, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. Michael was born in Utica on December 20, 1979, the son of Mark and Sandra (Sbiroli) Colosimo. He was a graduate of Proctor High School and MVCC, where he earned two degrees. Michael was currently employed with Upstate Cerebral Palsy in the Promise Program. He was dedicated to his work and loved by his students and their families. Prior to this he was employed with the ARC and Powerhouse Gym. Michael enjoyed working out at Planet Fitness and running, having participated in 19 Boilermakers. He enjoyed Broadway Musicals, the Arts, music, watching movies and Saranac Thursdays. But most important to Michael was celebrating Birthday dinners, going to K-Rock concerts, hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations with his family. Michael is survived by his parents, Mark and Sandra Colosimo, Utica; a cousin who was like a brother, Daniel F. Sbiroli; cousins, Amanda and Larry Gregory, Deanna Sbiroli, Little Dan, Goddaughter, Hadyen, Briennien, Lilliana, Cody, Christopher, Chaynce, and Gabby; aunts and uncles, Gary and Michele Sbiroli, and Daniel J. Sbiroli; and special friends, Tracy and Kelly Rhoades, Mary Vita and Tracy Scalise. He survived by many extended family and friends. Michael was predeceased by an aunt, who was a second Mom to him, Linda Sbiroli and uncle, Frank Sbiroli Jr. and grandparents, Dolores and Frank Sbiroli. Michael’s funeral will be held on Thursday morning, March 11, 2021 at 10:00 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., Utica. Burial will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery, Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4-6. Masks must be worn, social distancing and contact tracing will be implemented.
