Francis Pohorecki, 91, of Utica passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at the Abraham House in Rome. Francis was born in Utica on December 25, 1929, a son of Frank and Frances Pohorecki. After high school, Francis proudly served in the US Army. On October 16, 1954 at Holy Trinity Church in Utica, Francis was united in marriage to Louise Sychtysz, a blessed union of 57 years until her passing in 2011. Until his retirement Francis was employed with the Alling & Cory Co. He was a member of St. Paul’s Church, Whitesboro. Francis is survived by his children, Diane (Douglas) Barron, Clayville, Donald Pohorecki, Utica and Darren (Karen) Pohorecki, Whitesboro; four grandchildren, Scott Barron and Karli, Kelly Barron and Kyle, Megan Pohorecki and Gregory Pohorecki; three great grandchildren, Emily, Olivia and Aiden; two sisters-in-law, Jane Piechowicz, New York Mills and Betty Sychtysz, Marcy and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Pohorecki’s funeral will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 9:30 at St. Paul’s Church, Whitesboro. All covid protocols must be followed. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro.
