Arlene J. Sergott, 86, of Deerfield passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Arlene was born in Herkimer on December 6, 1934, a daughter of Raymond and Josephine (Lesniak) Yorkowski. At St. John’s Church, Newport on October 9, 1954, she was united in marriage to Charles F. Sergott, a blessed union of 49 years until his death on June 29, 2003. For many years Arlene was employed at the Marcy Psychiatric Center. She was a member of St. Mark’s Church, North Utica and the Deerfield Seniors. Throughout her life Arlene enjoyed spending winters in Florida, traveling, especially going on cruises, gardening, camping and baking. Arlene is survived by her two children, Virginia Sroka, Whitesboro and Frank Sergott, Deerfield; two grandchildren, David Sroka, Schuyler and Teresa DeGrace, Utica; two great grandchildren, Audrey DeGrace and Stephen DeGrace; a sister-in-law, Barbara Sergott, Deerfield two special friends, Cas and Kathy Witt and many cousins and friends. Arlene was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Edward Sergott. A funeral mass for Mrs. Sergott will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 10:00 at St. Mark’s Church, North Utica. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. There are no calling hours. All Covid protocols must be followed. Those so wishing may make donations to St. Mark’s Church in Arlene’s memory.
