Albert B. Slaughter, 80, of Utica, passed away on December 19, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Albert was born in Alexandria, Alabama on August 28, 1940, the son of Clegg and Essie Mae (Maxwell) Slaughter. Albert moved to Glen Cove, NY in 1962. On April 16, 1962, Albert was united in marriage with Mary Elizabeth McGraw. He was the owner and operator of Father and Son’s Excavating on Long Island. Albert’s Muslim faith was very Important to him and he truly enjoyed visiting the Nation of Islam daily. He also enjoyed fishing and his greatest joy was his family. Albert lived a joyful and happy life, always speaking kindly of everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by his beloved family and friends. Mr. Slaughter will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary Elizabeth; daughters, Carolyn, Shirley and Ruby Lee; grandchildren, Sherrie, Anthony, Shavada, Jaheim, Queenlena, Jahvon and Tamisha; one sister, Ruby; three brothers, Joe, Frank and Ralph; step-children, Mickey, Clarke, Dewight, Robert, Mechelle and Giselle as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sons, Burden, Leonard Ray and Albert, Jr.; granddaughter, Shade; sisters, Essie Betty, Ann Marie, Mary and Elise; brother, Henry and nephews, Terry, William and David.
