Obituary of Reginald G. Oeinck
Mr. Reginald G. Oeinck, 95, formerly of New Hartford passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Elderwood at Liverpool in Liverpool, NY. Reginald was born in Utica, on March 28, 1926, a son of Albert G. and Irene V. (Baechle) Oeinck. He honorably served in the US Army during World War II. For 30 years until his retirement in 1985, Reginald was employed at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome. He was a member of St. Thomas Church, New Hartford, American Legion Post 1376, New Hartford and the Nocturnal Adoration Society. Reginald is survived by nephews and nieces, Thomas Every, Ithaca, NY, Judith Merrill, Clay, NY, Tim Oeinck, AZ, Patricia Giambrone, OH, Paul Oeinck, GA and Susan Wilson, OH. Reginald was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Wendell Every And a brother, Albert Oeinck. Reg, as he was known by everyone, was proud of his Army service. He took care of his mother for many years and showed the same resilience in life. Every day until age 93, he could be seen early in the morning and at other times throughout the New Hartford community. A private man, he was devoted to his Catholic faith and to his closest family members. He liked to go to Clinton Comet hockey games, Vernon Downs, movies, visit with family, do mall walking, and eat out at restaurants. He was an inspiration to surviving family members for the way in which he overcame physical challenges, bounced back from illnesses, and always put his best foot forward on a daily basis. Mr. Oeinck’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, New Hartford, where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Entombment will take place in the Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville.
