Mr. James R. McBride, 55, of Utica, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Oneida Center Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Utica. James was born in Alcolu, SC on March 16, 1966, the son of Wilhelmina (Bowman) McBride and the late Louis Carter and received his education in Manhattan, NY. At one time, James was employed as a nurse’s aide with the Masonic Care Community in Utica and Broadacres Skilled Nursing Facility on Deerfield. James was also an amateur boxer. Mr. McBride is survived by his mother, Wilhelmina McBride; six daughters, Ronisha McBride, Kawanda Mathis, Roshonda Archie, Odesha Dawson, Lavonda Mathis and Amanda Whipper; two sons, Antwaun Whipper and Michael Gaston; five sisters, Rosetta McBride, Jacqueline Sanders, Ruby Mae McBride, Anette McBride and Tonja Carter; two brothers, Louis Greene and Samuel Carter; as well as 28 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, followed by a service at 12:00 noon at the conclusion of visitation. He will be laid to rest on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica.
