Wanda Melendez, 41, of Buffalo, NY, passed away on May 26, 2021 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Institute on Houston Texas, with her loving family by her side.
Wanda was born in Utica, on October 8, 1979, the daughter of Julio and Vicenta (Morales) Melendez and received her education in Buffalo schools. At one time, Wanda was married to Martin Thomas. For many years, Wanda was employed as a bus driver with Cedar Bus Company.
Wanda is survived by her two sons, Joel Donovan James and Jadan Andrew MacCubin, both of Buffalo; her grandmother, Ernesta Ayuso of Buffalo, sister, Mindy Melendez of Buffalo; aunts, Tina Ayuso, Carmen Pacheo and Lucy Villanueva and uncles, Angel Villanueva and Rafael Morales, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation for family and friends is Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, followed by a service at 12:00 noon at the conclusion of visitation. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Utica.
