Mr. Michael J. Cole, 39, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford. Michael was born in New Hartford on September 16, 1979, the son of David and Janet (James) Cole. He was raised and educated in NY Mills and was a graduate of NY Mills High School. On June 2, 2012, Michael was united in marriage with Jennifer L. Riebe. Michael was employed as a roofer with Dennis Padula & Sons in Utica. He enjoyed skeet shooting with his dad, fishing, and weight lifting. Michael had a tender heart, great sense of humor and treasured his family and friends. He will most be remembered as a loving husband to Jennifer and devoted father to Katie, Declan and Timothy, who were the joy of his life. Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer; his three cherished children, Katie, Declan and Timothy; his father and mother, David and Janet Cole of Utica; sister, Karen Cole of Boonville; paternal grandmother, Joan Malara of N. Utica; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gordon Riebe and Mary Fitzgerald of Cazenovia; God mother, Isabel Semeraro and God father, Gordon James, as well as several aunts, uncle, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Janet C. James and paternal grandfather, John E. Cole. Michael funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. His burial will be held at the convenience of his family.
