The love of my Life, William M. Swartz (Bill), 79 passed away on August 27, 2021 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Born in Pennsylvania and raised in Rome, NY, Bill was the son of Harvey and Margaret (Kahler) Swartz, who are both deceased. In 1968, he married the former Patricia Winters. Bill was employed at Strandflex until his retirement. The Mohawk River was his favorite fishing spot. William is survived by his beloved wife, Pat; three sons, Mike and Mary Swartz of Rome, Kharl and Lori Swartz of Clinton and Eric and Allie Swartz of Glendale; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and his sister, Ida Jean Getbehead of Rome. He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald. The family wishes to thank the third-floor staff at the Pines at Utica, for their compassion while caring for Bill. A special thank you to Ruth LaManque and Linda White for being there for me. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, there are no calling hours or services.
