Marie E. Manning, 69, of Prospect, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at her home. Marie was born in Utica on October 11, 1951, the daughter of the late Anthony and Lena (Romano) Pezzulo. She received her education in Utica graduating from Proctor Class of 1969. On April 7, 1979, Marie was united in marriage with Lawrence R. Manning, at St. Anthony’s Church, Utica. She worked for many years, but her happiness in life was taking care of her children and grandchildren. She always put everyone first and thought of herself last. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. Nana met the world to them too. She will be sadly missed. Mrs. Manning is survived by her husband of 42 years Lawrence, her children daughters Marlena Heitzman and her husband Troy, Prospect, Michelle Manning, Prospect, a son John Manning, Milwaukee, WI., six grandchildren Alyssa, Hayden, Logan, Brennan, Jacob, Lucas and a grandson on the way Emmett, also leaves three sisters, a brother and several nieces and nephews. Marie was a “nana” to many people who knew her and loved her, including to Denise Depasquale of Holland Patent who was considered like a daughter. Family would like to extend a special thanks to Shannon Meyers for her support through her illness. Mrs. Manning’s funeral service will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, Utica, NY. 13502 with Father Vincent Long of St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Holland Patent officiating.
