Mr. Richard Lawrence Jennings, 43, passed away peacefully at his home, on September 24, 2021. Richard was born on December 2, 1977, the son of Richard Joseph and Celia C. (Batson) Jennings. Rick grew up in Stittville and was a 1997 graduate of Holland Patent Central School. He furthered his education at SUNY Delhi, where he graduated with an associate’s degree and certificate in Plumbing, Heating & Pipefitting. Rick was employed with Plumbers local 112, Utica & Binghamton. Rick was a sports enthusiast, playing multiple sports, including soccer, basketball, football and track & field. Rick was a life member of St. Leo’s Church in Holland Patent, where he received his Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Rick is survived by: his loving parents, Richard and Sandy Jennings of Stittville; sister Jackie (Randy) Kent and their daughters, Erin and Elizabeth, of Hilton, NY; sister Karin Jennings of Henderson, NC; brother Ryan Jennings of Constableville, NY; many aunts, uncles and cousins; his family of friends at Plumbers Local 112; wonderful friends and neighbors in Stittville; and his “famous renter”, Piedy the cat. Rick leaves to his many friends his favorite quote: “Be grateful for what you have, be grateful for what you don’t have and be damn grateful you never get what you deserve.” Rick Is now at Peace. Rick’s funeral will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo’s and St. Anne’s Church in Holland Patent, where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. His Rite of Committal and burial will be at Townsend Cemetery in Stittville. Visitation for family and friends is Thursday, September 30th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.
