Mr. Wener "Skip" Francis Golbach, IV, 66, of Rome, NY, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016 with his loving sister by his side. Wener was born in Utica on December 27, 1949 the son of Wener Francis III and Jeanette (Guillaume) Golbach. He attended Whitesboro Central School and was a 1969 graduate of Sauquoit Valley Central High School. Skip proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. For many years, he was employed as a Telecommunications Specialist with the US Army Signal Command in Syracuse, retiring in 2000. Skip was a life member of the American Legion Post 1153 in Sylvan Beach and enjoyed golf and fishing. Mr. Golbach is survived by two sisters, Jo-Anne Kenney-Huxley of Western, NY and Nancy Dukes of Rochester, NY; nieces and nephews, Dulcey Przylucki, Erik Kenney and his wife Kristen, Barbara Pierce, Jay Dukes, Michael Dukes and his wife Nicole, David Dukes and Katie Dukes as well as several great nieces and nephews especially his God daughter, Rebecca Przylucki. He was predeceased by his parents, Wener and Jeanette and a brother, Philip Golbach. In keeping with Skip's wishes, there are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Oriskany Cemetery, Cider St., Oriskany, NY. Those wishing to make a donation in Skip's memory may do so to a charity of your choice. Mr. Golbach's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. especially, Lisa A., Stephanie and Irene for the wonder Care and extra T.L.C. you provided to Skip and his family.
