Mrs. Lynn Cox, 78, of Utica and Florida, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Abraham House in Rome, with her loving family by her side. Lynn was born in Cambridge, England, on April 26, 1943, the daughter of Stanley and Gladys (Proctor) Driver and received her education there. In England, on September 1, 1962, Lynn was united in marriage with Edward “Ted” Cox, a loving and devoted union of 59 years. For many years, Lynn was employed with Ciba Geigy Pharmaceutical Company in England, and more recently, with Utica National Insurance group in New Hartford. She was a member of the Church of England. Some of her favorite things included reading Danielle Steele books, listening and dancing to music especially Elvis Presly, Barry White, Frank Sinatra to name a few. She was a huge animal lover and enjoyed many years with her beloved dogs Nikki and Buster and most recently with her Grand kitties Leo, Rye, Kingston and Zoe and Granddog Tucker. She could spend days at the beach and hours of tending to her garden. She took great pride in everything she did and created a beautiful home for her family cooking many amazing meals such as traditional English Sunday dinners with yorkshire pudding and Bisto gravy, toad in the hole, shepherds pie and her amazing jam tarts with custard. She also made some beautiful creations on her sewing machine. Lynn loved to spend time with her beloved family and always kept in close contact with her friends and family in England, especially her 3 sisters who she treasured. Lynn is survived by her loving husband, Ted; two beloved daughters, Kim Tobiasz/John, Nicole/Johnny Boone of N. Utica and Tracey and Jeff Lee of Utica; her cherished granddaughter, Olivia Tobiasz; two sisters, Dierdre Pease of Cherry Hinton, Cambridge England and Cheryl Neal of Water Beach, Cambridge England, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Brian Driver and David Driver and one sister, Jean Eyers. A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 3pm at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. The family will receive visitors from 2-3pm prior to the service. Please omit floral offerings, and consider making a donation to the Abraham House, 417 N. Washington St. Rome, NY 13440 or 1203 Kemble St., Utica, NY 13501 in Lynn’s memory. Lynns family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Abraham House Rome, especially her caregiver Pam and executive directors, Gina Ciaccia and Kim Todd for the wonderful care and compassion you provided to Lynn during her final days. A special thank you to the staff on the 2nd floor ICU at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, Darren Laplante at Slocum Dickson Medical Group, Dr. Ruben in Florida and Dr. Sikdar and his staff in Utica for the wonderful care you provided to Lynn during her illness.
