Estelle Barton, of Utica, passed away on Monday November 8, 2021. Estelle was born in Frankfort, NY, the daughter of George and Julia Kipper. Estelle was united in marriage with Raymond Barton on June 30, 1951 at St. Mary’s Church in Frankfort, a blessed union of 48 years, until Raymond’s passing on March 24, 1999. Estelle taught English in Little Falls, NY and later as a seventh and eighth grade English teacher in Florida, where she and Raymond lived for many years. Estelle was a member of the National Education Association, Classroom Teachers Association, The Good News Foundation and the Women’s order of Moose Lodge 450. She was a dedicated volunteer at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, Munson Williams Institute and was a perpetual adorer for 18 years. Estelle demonstrated stealth generosity with the sick, destitute and downtrodden of Utica, for this was her mission later in life. Mrs. Barton is survived by her nephews and nieces, Ryan Lauretano, Jon and Diann Gorea, Greg and Dena Gorea, Judy Ann Gorea, George Frattasio, Geoffrey and Mary Jo Frattasio and Pat Taurisano. She was predeceased by her brother Carl Kipper who lost his life in 1944 while serving in the Pacific Theater during WW II and her sister, Carlene Lauretano who succumbed to cancer in 2005. Estelle deeply appreciated the concern, affection and support from friends and family. In keeping with Estelle’s wishes, there are no calling hours.
