Please accept our sincere condolences from the entire Rys family.
I have many fond memories of Mike and our old E. Utica neighborhood. As a youth, I often played goalie for Mike and Victor at the former Broad St. General Electric. They initiated my lifelong interest in hockey.
I always looked up to Mike and chose him to be my confirmation sponsor/Godfather.
When it was time to move from Milgate Street, Mike was there to help with uncle Marty's pea green truck.
Before graduating from high school, Mike took it upon himself to introduce me to various business owners and professionals in the community to help me choose a course of college study and career path. During my college years, Mike employed his math and physics knowledge by volunteering to be my college tutor.
Most recently, we enjoyed chatting with Mike and Patty on Saturday nights at Carmella's. We were shocked to hear of his passing.
Mike was at the top of my list of genuine good people in the world!!! May he rest in peace.
