Obituary of Sheridon A. Steele

Please share a memory of Sheridon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 Sheridon Anthony Steele graced this world with his presence on December 11, 1974 in Norwich District, Port Antonio, Portland, Jamaica to Loretta Williams Young. Family and friends knew him as Twanna, Donavan, DonDon or Don. Don attended Boundbrook Primary School until he migrated to the United States in 1983, where he continued his education and later graduated from Stevenson High School in the Bronx. He started his career at South Bronx Medical Center as a Dialysis Technician, where he made a big impact on the patients. Don would later work at Par Technology Corporation in New Hartford, NY. From an early age, Don had a style like no other. He carried himself like an old soul. He was the best big brother, a doting father, a loving partner and took pride in being the oldest son to Loretta. He was someone you could rely on and turn to when in need. He was caring, patient and took his time when he spoke. He made people feel comfortable and welcomed. Don was the kind of person you wanted to share a laugh with and his smile was infectious. His clothes were dapper, his shoes were fresh out the box and his car was alway polished. Don shined with a light that made you feel at home and he moved through this world with confidence and swagger. He was someone we all looked up to and loved dearly. To know Don was to know the true meaning of Family and Faith. Jamaica blessed him with roots and culture. He carried his home country and God with him wherever he went. Sunday dinners were a must, big family get-togethers were essential. A big part of Jamaican culture can be found in our food and Don loved to cook. Seeing everyone helping themselves to a home cooked meal brought him joy. He made sure all were to be present and said grace before we could eat and was always there to share a recipe. He loved playing Dominoes into the night while sharing stories of where we came from and where we were going. He had a great passion for sports. You could always call him up at any time to chat about the Dallas Cowboys and Basketball. And when it came to music, Don knew the best tunes and his favorite sound was Vikings and Stone Love. On December 26, 2021 Sheridon Steele passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital in Utica, NY surrounded by his family. His light, his love and his memory will forever be with those who were blessed to have known him. Don is survived by his Mother Loretta, Father Clive, Grandmother Enid, Siblings; Diane, Clive, and Latoya, nephew Kaysi, nieces Kayla and Jailee Children; Tynaisha and Aaliyah, Fiance' Kathy and her children, Carlos, Tyler, Ariel and Kyle, Grandson Azzure and numerous other relatives and friends.
