On January 1st, 2022, at 84, Glade Emery Cook Sr. left this world with his loving wife Candace Cook by his side. Glade was born in Madison, Wisconsin on January 27th, 1937 to the late parents of Vitalia (Pesko) Cook-Shannon and Carl Cook. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings Rochelle Martin and Vincent Cook. He is survived by his siblings Donald Cook, Tim Cook, Gary Cook, Kathy Shannon Hall and Patricia Shannon Gay. Glade leaves behind his four sons from a union with the late Angela DePhillips Cook and their wives; Glade, Jr and Jean, Scott and Gina, Brett & Kerri and Craig and Melissa in addition to eight loving grandchildren. Glade was educated at Hamilton High School followed by MVCC. He then laid down roots in Marcy, New York where he lived with his wife Candace to whom he was married to on July 2nd, 1977. During their marriage, they loved traveling together and would frequent Jamaica in their early years. Recently, they have been spending winters in Fort Myers Beach, Florida as snowbirds and have made many friends along the way. Glade accomplished many things during his time as a financial advisor and life insurance salesman. He was the youngest person at the time to achieve the Million Dollar Round Table and at age 65 he qualified for Top of the Table. In his spare time, he enjoyed time with his family, watching western movies and telling stories. Mr. Cook's funeral will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary, Our Lady of Czestochowa, 201 Main St., NY Mills, where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Face coverings are required in church. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the ALS of Utica or The Leukemia & Lymphoma society, both of which are very close to the Cook family’s hearts.
