Mrs. Debra A. Kingsley, 65, of Whitesboro, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford, with her loving husband and daughter by her side. Debra was born in Utica, on April 6, 1956, the daughter of Elwood and Bernadette (Zalandkofski) Hoole. She was raised in Utica, was a graduate of Proctor High School and earned her RN degree from Mohawk Valley Community College. On April 27, 1988, Debra was united in marriage with Michael J. Kingsley. At one time, Debra was employed as an RN with St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital and later as a nursing home surveyor for the state of New Jersey. She continued her nursing career with the Folts Home in Herkimer, and until her retirement in 2012, with MetLife in Oriskany. Debra enjoyed knitting, swimming and spending time at Saranac Lake, and above all else, spending time with her family was her greatest joy. She was a devoted parishioner of Historic Old St. John’s Church in Utica. Mrs. Kingsley is survived by her loving husband, Michael; her devoted daughter, Megan Kingsley and her fiancée Joseph Ellis of Whitesboro; dear friends, Carol James, Suzette Morreale, Geraldine Morreale, Bonnie Tanner and Janette Sepulveda as well as many more friends too numerous to mention. Also surviving are many beloved cousins, her grand dog, Sandy and feline companions, Muffin, ChaCha and Columbus. Mrs. Kingsley’s funeral will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at Historic Old St. John’s Church in Utica, where her Mass of Christian burial will celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville.
