Obituary of David Earl Washburn

Mr. David E. Washburn of Marcy, NY passed away Friday January 28, 2022 at his home after a long illness. David was born in Utica, on May 31, 1944 son of Myron and Mary Louise (Goodson) Washburn. David was raised and educated in Utica NY and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On April 20, 1968, he married the love of his life, Demis K. Lampman. He was employed with NCR for 40 years as a Field Engineer. He was a proud member of the US Army National Guard and Army Reserves for 21 years. He was activated during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and received the Army Achievement Medal. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son Dan Washburn (Jennifer) of Denver CO.; daughter Jennifer L. O'Connor (Randy) of Whitesboro N.Y.; one sister Ellen Haug of Fort Myers FL.; and one sister-in-law, Nancy Hickman (Bob) of Holland MI. He was predeceased by his sister Anne Burke; brother-in-law Joe Haug; and sister-in-law Georgine Ward. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He leaves the sparkle in his eyes four grandchildren, Brooke, Allison, Logan, and Sara. He always supported them in sports, concerts, recitals, competitions even while visiting in Colorado. Family was the most cherished thing to him. He was a genuine husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend. The family will be holding private services.
