Mrs. Phyllis E. Lange, 88, of Arizona, formerly of New Hartford, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 in Arizona, with her loving son and daughter-in-law by her side. Phyllis was born in Utica, on August 13, 1933, the daughter of James and Angeline (Perniece) Longo. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Proctor High School. On February 27, 1965, Phyllis was united in marriage with Richard “Dick” J. Lange at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Utica, a loving and devoted union of 52 years, until Dick’s death in 2017. Phyllis had a work ethic that was second to none. She truly enjoyed and even looked forward to going to work, at General Electric, Cogar or ICL, and was proud that she was sent to Ireland to assist in the training and development of co-workers. Phyllis found great joy in tending to her large garden and she was a devoted member of St. Thomas Church in New Hartford. Mrs. Lange is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sue Lange of AZ; sister-in-law, Flora Longo of Whitesboro and brother-in-law, David Powell, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Kay Potenza and brother, Rocco Longo. A heartfelt thank you to Phyllis’’ nephew, Jim Longo, for the many years of loving care and support you provided to her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Mrs. Lange’s funeral Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 150 Clinton, Rd., New Hartford. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in Calvary Cemetery in Utica. There are no calling hours.
