I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
My father always shared positive stories about how Aunt Patty was good to us when we were kids and lived in New York.
I am sure she is in a better place, watching over you and sending you her love she still has left to share.
God Bless!
Christian Zajac

Pat Zajac was such a force of life, and it's impossible to imagine she is gone.
I was blessed to have known pay for over 15 years. She was tough as nails but had such a big heart; Pat loved animals and her community. She was an advocate for the underdog and involved herself in local politics. Pat was someone who never stopped learning new things. She was fearless and kind; she believed that things could be better. You can see this her work to improve her own community, and the work did with the RedCross. Pat told me how she helped families affected by fire, sometimes even being called late at night to help with blankets and a kind word when the worst had happened.
Pat knew everyone in the neighborhood and looked out for them, and she always had stories to tell.
She loved the stray cats in the community that she constantly looked after and was known to find homes for homeless animals.
Pat loved all holidays, and you could expect to see her house decorated, and her in costume if it was Halloween, in a green hat if it was st. Patrick's day or a Christmas sweater celebrating the season. She would hand out candy during Halloween to the local kids, and sometimes even in the summer, she would have a surprise or two for the neighborhood kids. Of course, I was also the recipient of some of her sweet treats. She would give me chocolate-covered cherries every year, knowing this was my favorite Christmas treat.
When I think of the people in Pat's life, I can see her values reflected back. If you were a friend of Pat's, you could count on her for the rest of your life.
Pat will be missed but never forgotten; we will carry her memory in our hearts.

So sorry to hear of Pat's death. Pat and I rode the school bus together years ago and we also shared a birthday on February 1st. I sent the usual birthday greeting as usual on the first. She was a sweet gal with a big heart and a real asset to the community. I will miss chatting occasionally with her on Facebook. Fly high my friend. Heaven has gained a big hearted angel.

Greetings Mr. Zecca,
Thank you so much for sending the Obituary of Pat Zajac. She was certainly a
True Community Advocate and a Dedicated Concerned Citizen. It is people
like Pat Zajac that are the “Backbone” of Community Engagement. She lent
her voice and her being to several conversations. Pat was an asset to the
Neighborhood (West Utica), Community, and City of Utica. She will Truly be
missed. I pray for her family during their time of bereavement.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Craig Grant

Message from Ralph Quinn
My prayers go out to her and her family.
Pat was instrumental in so many aspects of trying to get the City, and especially her own neighborhood, into shape.
She was one of the biggest supporters of the Block Associations, and and a strong proponent of the Weed & Seed Program. A lot of her efforts helped to push through many programs and initiatives in the City, we should all be grateful for her involvement.

Aunt Patty I will miss our talks and your encouragement. You would always check on me and the kids and send cute projects you found online. You understood that being a mother to young kids was tough and you always had something kind and thoughtful to say to me. Thank you for accepting us and the love you showed. Miss you. Rest in peace.
