Obituary of Glen John Borek

Mr. Glen John Borek, 64, of N. Utica, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at his home, with his loving family by his side.
Glen was born in Utica, on September 14, 1957, the son of Joseph M. and Margaret C. (Craig) Borek. He was raised and educated in Utica and was a 1975 graduate of JFK High School in N. Utica. For 20 years, Glen Proudly served in the US Army. After his honorable discharge, he went to work as a corrections officer at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, NY and later, Shawangunk Correctional Facility in Wallkill, NY, retiring after 10 years of dedicated service. On November 16, 2007, Glen was united in marriage with Ann Snyder. Glen was a member of Malsan Jones VFW post 7393, NY Mills, and American Legion post 907, Alexandria Bay, NY. He was an avid sports enthusiast with his favorite teams being, Syracuse, Utica Comets, NY Giants and NY Yankees. Glen made many very special friends from Delmonico’s, Applebee’s and Babes in Utica. He also holds many found memories of the St. Lawrence River and Alexandria Bay, as well as sharing special times with Dennis and Deb at the Otter Creek Hotel in Alexandria Bay and his many forever friends at the Legion, Riverboat Bar, Tricia’s Roadhouse and O’Brien’s in Clayton, NY.
Mr. Borek is survived by his beloved wife Ann; mother, Margaret C. Borek Morris; three loving daughters, Melissa Tuohy (Timothy), Michele Williams, (William) and Jennifer Bernard (John); step-daughters, Michelle Cole (Alfred) and Suzanne Martin (Earl, III); grandchildren (his precious gems)-TJ Tuohy, Shawn Williams, Brian Williams, Mackenzie Bernard, Isabella Bernard, John (Jay) Bernard, Taylor Martin and Earl Martin, IV; step-brother, Robert Morris (Susan); his beloved aunt, Lois Wiens (Stan); cousins, Karen Smith (Lyall), Laurie Albanese (Gary), Dale Craig and Wendy Ward (Daniel); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph Rubino (Kelly), Christopher Rubino (Michelle), Carolyn Francis and Albert Snyder (Jeanne), as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph; step-father, Richard Morris; uncle and aunt, Jack and Louise Craig; beloved cousin, Kimberly, who passed way to soon and brother-in-law, Kenneth Snyder.
Visitation for family and friends is Friday, (today) March 11, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, followed by a celebration of Glen’s life at 6:00 p.m. at the conclusion of visitation.
