Obituary of Mary Ann (Dam) Stalker

     Mrs. Mary Ann (Dam) Stalker, 79, of Selkirk, NY and a longtime resident of Deerfield, passed away on April 17, 2022, after a short illness, with her loving family by her side.

     Mary Ann was born in Utica, on August 18, 1942, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Elizabeth (Remmer) Dam.  She was raised and educated locally and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School.  Mary Ann was married to Henry W. Steinhorst, Sr, until his death in 1974.  She later married David B. Stockbridge, Sr., who passed away in 1981 and most recently was married to Arnold Stalker until his death in 1997.  Mary Ann was a member of the Daughters of the Nile.  She enjoyed gardening, loved her family trips to Disney World and especially loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great- grand daughter who were the light of her life.  Until she moved to the Albany area, Mary Ann attended Grace Episcopal Church in Utica.

     Mary Ann is survived by her six daughters, Robin Steinhorst of Selkirk, Johanne (Rev. Timothy) DiMare of Whitesboro, Cheryl Steinhorst of Selkirk, Joy (Alan) Davis of Deerfield, Breann Stalker of Selkirk and Rose Stalker of Ravena, NY; her two sons Henry W., Jr. (Kathy) Steinhorst, of Colonie, NY and David Stockbridge, Jr. (Shana Feinberg) of Averill Park, NY; a daughter-in-law, Debra (late Gregory) Stalker of Loundonville, NY; her cherished grandchildren, Melissa DiMare, Timothy, Jr. (Racheal) DiMare, Anthony DiMare, Kaitlyn Steinhorst, Elizabeth Steinhorst, Evelyn Stockbridge, Shai Stockbridge and Dexter Lewis; an adored great granddaughter, Hailey DiMare; two sisters, Susan Clark of Deerfield and Johanne (Melvin) Bush of Port St. Lucie, FL; one brother, Peter Dam of Whitesboro, as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her two step-sons, Gregory Stalker and Jeffrey Stalker and a great granddaughter, Kierra DiMare.

     Mary Ann’s funeral will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Church, 6 Elizabeth St., Utica. She will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica.  Visitation for family and friends is Wednesday, May 4th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica.  Those wishing to make a donation in Mary Ann’s memory, please consider the American Heart Association.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
