     Mr. Guy A. Yacobelli, Jr., 88, of N. Utica, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 with his loving family by his side.

    Guy was born in Utica, on October 28, 1933, the son of Guy A. Sr. and Catherine (Messina) Yacobelli and received his education in the Utica schools. Guy proudly served in the US Army, where he was stationed at Fort McClellan, Alabama. On April 19, 1957 Guy was united in marriage with Shirley F. Watts, a loving and devoted union of 65 years. For many years, Guy was employed with Sperry UNIVAC in Utica, until the company closed. He then went to work at Friedrich Climate Master in Utica until his retirement. Guy loved to cook, especially traditional Italian cuisine, a gift he passed down to his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time with his beloved family at Otter Lake. Guy will be remembered most as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, whose life centered around his family. He was of the Catholic faith.

    Mr. Yacobelli is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; three loving children, Guy A. Yacobelli, III and his wife Christine Stamboly of Utica, Barbara Wagner and her husband Bernard of Hudson, NH and Darlene Siedlecki and Steve Ventura of Baldwinsville, NY; three cherished grandchildren, Dr. Michael Siedlecki and his wife Emily of Clarence, NY, Melissa Baldwin and her husband Robert of Oswego, NY and Katelynn Wagner and Travis Gilcreast of Hudson, NH; five adored great grandchildren, Scarlet, Hazel and Paxton Guy Siedlecki and Isabel and Logan Baldwin; former son-in-law, John Siedlecki of Rome, as well as three half-sisters, two half-brothers and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son, Gary Wayne Yacobelli; brother, Lawrence Yacobelli, Sr., and his wife Theresa; sister Janette Walley and her husband, Charles Sr., and his canine companion, Friskie.

    In keeping with Guy’s wishes, there are no calling hours and a private family service will be held. He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Utica.
