Sending condolences to The Maher brothers. The Rice's were very lucky to have Mr. Maher as part of our lives for so many years. John was very good friends with my dad when we lived up there and they spent quite a bit of time together. When I played Whitesboro Little League(New Hartford Plumbing) and CYO Basketball(St. Paul's) Mr. Maher was my coach. His leadership and the way he carried himself I am sure was as positive an influence on others he coached as it was me. We also had the great opportunity to spend many many weekends camping/fishing up at the St Lawrence River with The Maher family. Besides the fishing, there were endless card games between the parents that seem to never end. Mr. Maher was a great father and family man and the fond memories of him will be a part of my life forever.
