Obituary of Harold L. Anderson, Jr.

    Mr. Harold L. Anderson, Jr., 85, of Marcy, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 8, 2022 at his home.

     Harold was born in Ohio, NY, on June 18, 1937, the son of Harold L., Sr. and Freida (Stanley) Anderson.  Harold proudly served in the US Army from 1960 until his honorable discharge in 1962.  On February 7, 1959, Harold was united in marriage with Ruth M. Race at Sacred Heart Church in Utica.  Harold was employed with PJ Green Advertising in Utica, retiring as a supervisor, after many years of dedicated service.  He enjoyed Hunting, was an avid reader and a parishioner of the Church of The Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa in NY Mills.

     Mr. Anderson is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Harold L. Anderson, III of Whitesboro, NY and James M. and Lori Anderson of Sherrill, NY; two daughters and one son-in-law, Christine M. Anderson of Maine and Colleen M. and Jack Sittig of Watervliet, NY; seven cherished grandchildren, Taeler, James and his wife Kiersten, Danielle, Jenna and her husband Joseph, Rebecca, Aaron and Emily; one sister, Annie Anderson of Schuyler, NY; one brother, William Anderson of Ilion, NY and sister-in-law, Marilyn Ritter of Forestport, NY, as well as 4 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his feline companion, Rem.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Arnold Anderson Norman Anderson.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Mr. Anderson’s memorial Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of The Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa in NY Mills.  His entombment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Harold’s memory to Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St., Utica, NY 13502 or Church of The Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa, 201 Main St., NY Mills, NY 13417.  Envelopes will be available at church.
