Obituary of Abdel Ford

     Mr. Abdel Ford, 49, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2022.

     Abdel was born in Detroit, MI, on April 4, 1973, the son of David Thomas and the late Cassandra Jean Holmes.  He was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy.  Abdel will be remembered as a family man who lived for his children.  He was often referred to as “the life of Party” and could brighten a room just by being present. 

     Abdel is survived by his beloved fiancée, Stephaina Davis; two daughters, Jasmine Ford and Jazlynn Ford; five sons, Abdel Ford, Jr., Tabiris Ford, Sr., Justis Ford, Jayden Ford and Jordyn Ford; his father, David Thomas; four grandchildren, Tabiris Ford, Jr., Terriyah Ford, Ja’Quez Williams and Ty’Niya Williams; five sisters, Chardra Ford, Tajuana Ford, Victoria Thomas, Chrystal Thomas and Daveina Thomas; and two brothers, David Thomas and Christopher Lamar Thomas, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his mother, Cassandra Jean Holmes.

     Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. at the conclusion of visitation.  He will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica.
