Obituary of Charlain Ann (Ransom) Greene

     Mrs. Charlain Ann (Ransom) Greene, 75, of Maryland, formerly of Utica, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in Maryland with her loving family by her side.

     Charlain was born in Utica on October 16, 1946, the daughter of William and Therese (Scalzo) Ransom. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University. On August 5, 1967, Charlain was united in marriage with Robert Greene. Charlain had many hobbies and loves, including sewing, reading, gardening, collecting “stuff,” comics, science fiction, and especially spending time with her cherished grandchildren.   

     Mrs. Greene is survived by her husband, Robert; one daughter and son-in-law, Carrie Greene D’Ascoli and her husband Richard; one son and daughter-in-law, Jamie Greene and his wife Cici; four cherished grandchildren, Kendall D’Ascoli, Jeremy D’Ascoli, Zoey Greene, and Samuel Greene; and one sister, Melloney Hathaway.

     There will be no calling hours and a private family service will be held. She will be laid to rest in West Schuyler Cemetery.
