Obituary of Dorothy A. Kane

      Dorothy A. Kane, 89, a resident of the Masonic Care Community, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, at the nursing home.

     Dorothy was born in Utica, on May 14, 1933, the daughter of Ray and Catherine M. (Wolak) Kane. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. For many years, Dorothy was employed with General Electric Company in Utica, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Broadway Theatre League, a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica and the Alter Rosary Society at the church.

     Ms. Kane is survived by her sister, Marilyn Ryznar of Deerfield and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and James Landers, brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Dolores Kane and brother-in-law, Donald Ryznar.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Dorothy’s funeral Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 422 Coventry Ave., N. Utica. She will be laid to rest with her parents in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 in Dorothy’s memory.
