Obituary of Isabel Marie (Rios) DeJesus

     Isabel Marie (Rios) DeJesus, 88, of Utica, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022 at MVHS, St. Luke’s Campus, with her loving family by her side.

     Isabel was born in Rome, NY, on July 29, 1934, the daughter of Bernardo and Sophie (Christiansen) Nava.  She was raised and educated in Rome and was a graduate of Rome Free Academy.  Isabel enjoyed cooking, knitting and was a parishioner of Historic Old St. John’s Church in Utica.

     Mrs. DeJesus is survived by her beloved companion, Angel Gutierrez, who helped care for Isabel; her loving sons and daughters, Fausto (Susan) Rioscolon of Utica, Christina Santiago of Utica, Luis (Kathleen) Rios of FL, Felix Rios of Utica, Angel (Maryann) Rios of Utica and Emilia (Jose) Santiago of Utica; one sister, Laura Festa of Rome; two brothers, John Peragua of Rome and Anthony Baldomir of Plattsburgh, NY, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Fausto Rios; two sons, Victor Rios and Bernardo Rios and one brother, Joseph Baldomir.

     Visitation for family and friends is Tuesday, October 25, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m..  She will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Utica at the convenience of her family.
