Obituary of Robert H. Burmaster

     Mr. Robert H. Burmaster, 97, of Utica, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, at MVHS, St. Luke’s Campus in New Hartford with his loving family by his side.

     Robert was born in Syracuse, NY on February 13, 1925.  On June 16, 1951, Robert was united in marriage with Beverly Jayne Morrison, at St. Joseph’s Church in Utica, a loving and devoted union of 50 years until Beverly’s death in 2002.  At one time, Robert was employed with Horrocks Ibbotson in Utica and for 20 years until his retirement, with General Electric Company in Utica.  He was a member of the Utica Maennerchor in Marcy, the Noble Order of Knights of St. John’s, Commandry 41 in Utica and a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica.  Robert will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather whose family was the joy of his life.

     Mr. Burmaster is survived by his three children, the twins, Beverly Hertline and her husband Robert of Whitesboro and Robert H. Burmaster, II and his Companion, Dawn Satterlee of Utica and Sharry Marie Burmaster of Utica; four cherished grandchildren, Bobby Burmaster, III and his companion, Tamara Egresits of Utica, Joseph Hertline and his wife Karen of Marcy, Susan Burmaster and her fiancée Jonathan Santomassino of Whitesboro and Sean Burmaster and his fiancée Ann Dobrzienski-Brown of Utica; ten adored great grandchildren, Benjamin Hertline, Connor Hertline, Theodore Hertline, Adrianna Pasho, John Pasho, Gabriella Santomassino, Cameron Santomassino, Sabrina Santomassino, Sean Burmaster, Jr and M.J.; sister-in-law, Rae Burmaster and special cousin, Kathy Humbrecht;  Besides his wife, Beverly, he was predeceased by his brother, Arthur Burmaster; cousin and friend, Francis Humbrecht and canine companion, Daliliah.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Robert’s funeral Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica.  He will be laid to rest with his beloved Beverly in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville.  There are no calling hours.  Please omit floral offerings and consider making a donation in Robert’s memory to Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St., Utica, NY 13502.
