Obituary of Audrey V Durr

Mrs. Audrey V. Durr, 92, formerly of Utica passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the Presbyterian Home, New Hartford, where she has been a patient.

     Audrey was born in Utica, on April 4, 1930, the daughter of the late Grover and Reva (Launt) Dunham.  She is a graduate of Whitesboro High School class of 1948.  Shortly after high school she was united in marriage to Philip J. Durr, Sr., on June 9, 1951, a blessed union of 52 years Mr. Durr predeceased her July 20, 2003.  Audrey worked at one time for New York Telephone before having children, then became an at home mom and wife.  Audrey had her own ceramics studio in her home and taught others how to do ceramics. 

     Mrs. Durr is survived by her devoted daughter Ellen (Durr) Yurkon and her husband Robert, Manlius, NY., two sons Philip J. Durr, Jr., and his wife Deborah, NC., Raymond Durr, Fox Lake, WI., sister Eleanor Nadeau, three grandchildren Ricky Yurkon, Abigail Blackmon and her husband Mitchell, Michelle Risvold and her husband Matthew, a very special niece Christine (Nadeau) Veschusio, several other nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her two brothers Kenneth, Gordon Dunham and sister Helene Hamilton.

     A private memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Historic Old St. John’s Church, 240 Bleecker Street, Utica, NY., 13501.  She will be laid to rest with her husband Philip in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements for Mrs. Audrey V. Durr have been entrusted to Heintz Funeral Services, Inc., 408 Herkimer Road, Utica, NY., 13502.
