Obituary of Lois Steffen Kenefick

      Mrs. Lois Steffen Kenefick passed away December 26, 2022, at the Masonic Care Community in Utica.

     Lois was born in Utica, on May 13, 1926, the daughter of George Maine and Mabel M. (Allen) Steffen. She was raised in Utica and was a 1944 graduate of Utica Free Academy. Lois was employed as a medical secretary at Rhoads Hospital and later held other clerical positions. On June 5, 1948, Lois was united in marriage with Joseph Kenefick at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica, a blessed union of almost 53 years, until Joseph’s passing in 2001.

     Mrs. Kenefick is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Bonnie and Anthony DiSpirito, Colleen Kenefick and Erwin London and Kathy Kenefick; one granddaughter, Angela DiSpirito and a great granddaughter, Gabriella. She was predeceased by her siblings, Jean (Zimmerman), George, Richard and Allen.

     A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated and announced at a later date. She will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Utica.
