Obituary of Patricia A. Klar

       Mrs. Patricia A. Klar, 95, a resident of the Charles T. Sitrin Health Care Center in New Hartford, formerly of Oxford Rd., New Hartford, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the nursing home, with her loving family by her side.

     Patricia was born in Utica, on May 24, 1927, the daughter of Francis and Margaret (White) Dulan and received her education in Utica schools.  At one time, Patricia was married to Donald LaFayette, later to Edward J. O’Toole and most recently to Stanley Klar until his passing. For many years until her retirement, Patricia was employed with Utica National Insurance Company in New Hartford.  She enjoyed cooking, going out to eat, playing board games, especially Yahtzee and she loved her feline companions.  Patricia’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the joy of her life.  She was of the Catholic faith.

     Mrs. Klar is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Rita LaFayette of Marcy; daughter-in-law, Cheryl LaFayette; three step-sons, Michael Klar, Brother Thomas Klar, C.F.X and Dr. Kurt F. Klar, D.D.S; one step-daughter, Diane Ciprian; four cherished grandchildren, Cathy (Russell) Munch, Eric (Nadine) LaFayette, Lori (Matt) Grems and Jay (Stacey) LaFayette, adored great grandchildren, Amber, Britanny, Megan, Kadence, Bradley, Andrew , Alex, Jadyn, Kaylee, Keirsten, Ashtyn, Trysten, Kara and Jack and adored great great grandchildren, Blake, Brendon, Colton and Phoenix, as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her son, Gary LaFayette in 2007, Grandson, Gary LaFayette, Jr in 2021, great grandson, Aidan Grems in 2005; two brothers, Edward Dulan and John Dulan and one sister, Jean Hulser.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Patricia’s memorial service on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.  She will be laid to rest with her husband Stanley in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica.
