Obituary of Viktorija Jakupovic

Viktorija Jakupovic, 84, of Utica passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Utica.

     Viktorija was born in Sanski Most, Bosnia, on June 9, 1938, the daughter of the late Ana Bujadilo.  She was raised in Bosnia by her foster parents, Fabo and Nediljka Ivanovic, and survived the Bosnian war before migrating to the United States.  She was united in marriage to Esad Jakupovic and had two children. Mr. Jakupovic predeceased her in 2009.  Viktorija loved to knit and crochet all kinds of things, especially socks. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Viktorija babysat many children of her family and friends. She was a fun, loving, and caring woman who loved smoking her cigarettes more than eating her favorite food.

     Viktorija is survived by her son Emil Jakupovic and his wife Zdenka, daughter Sladana Odobasic and her husband Edin, grandchildren Cindy Jakupovic, Edita Odobasic, Steven Jakupovic, Eldin Odobasic, all of Utica, sister Antonija Pandza, Petrinja, Croatia.

     A funeral service will be celebrated for Viktorija on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 6 PM at Heintz Funeral Services, Inc, 408 Herkimer Road, Utica, NY.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 PM-6 PM prior to the service.  She will be laid to rest in New Forest Cemetery, Oneida Street, Utica
