Obituary of Andrew G. Wilson, Jr.

      Mr. Andrew G. Wilson, Jr., 71, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Utica Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Utica.

     Andrew was born in Utica on October 13, 1951, the son of Andrew G., Sr, and Rita (Murray) Wilson.  He was raised in Utica, was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and Mohawk Valley Community College.  Andrew honorably served in the US Marine Corps.   At one time, Andrew was married to Cindy Dannettel.  For many years, He was employed as sign shop manager with Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome and later with Upstate Cerebral Palsy.  Andrew enjoyed golfing, swimming, camping, biking, taking long walks with his daughter and playing cards, especially, pitch. He was also very enthusiastic about exercising, lifting weights and his long runs. Andrew was an avid movie enthusiast, he loved animals, and was an active volunteer with the Hope House, the Heart Run and Walk and March of Dimes and was a parishioner of St. Mark’s Church in N. Utica.

     Mr. Wilson is survived by his loving daughter, Cheyenne Wilson; two brothers, Michael (Kris) Wilson and James (Theresa) Wilson and one brother-in-law, Boyce (Boomer) Broadbent, as well as 13 nieces and nephews and many cousins whom he loved dearly. Also surviving are dear friends, Kay Cotton, Tom Kalies, Paul (Patty) Steves and Jim Farda. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Rita; sister, Rhea Broadbent and three special friends, Bernice, Sophie and Marie.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Andrew’s Memorial Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Church, 440 Keyes Rd., N.
