Obituary of Patricia Ann Carey

Patricia Ann Carey, 68, of Utica, NY passed away Friday, January 27, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Utica.

            Patty was born in Utica, NY on July 19, 1954, the daughter of the late    Marvin and Patricia (Harmon) Carey. She was raised in Utica and attended Utica schools. Patty was employed for many years by Human Technologies Corporation (HTC), Utica and was known for her skill as a seamstress.  Patty’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She also had a great love for animals, especially dogs. She had her favorites Sofie, Snowball and Abby. If Patty wasn’t with family, she would be volunteering at several charities but her favorite was Ladies of Charity at Old Historical St. John's Church, where she was considered an “Earth Angel”.

            Mrs. Carey is survived by the love of her life Jonathan “John” Delaney, siblings Ruth Spina, Richard Carey, David Carey, Barbara Carey - Flanders, Brenda Carey - Amai, and predeceased by her brother Marvin Carey, Jr., her children Joseph Gottuso & partner Ann O’Dell, Missy & husband Mark  Brisbane, Tina Gottuso - Rogers, and her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was also very close to  and loved her sister in law Joann Delaney, godchildren Zachary Sumner and Annabella Malinowski, in addition to many other relatives and friends.

            Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Patty’s calling hours and memorial service on Friday, February 10, 2023, at the Heintz Funeral Services, Inc., 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica, NY 13502. Calling hours will be held from 10am-12pm with the memorial service immediately following.  Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in the spring.
