Obituary of Joyce M. Clark

     Mrs. Joyce M. Clark, 76, of Whitesboro, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the Hospice Abraham House in Rome, with her loving family by her side.

     Joyce was born in Utica, on November 14, 1946, the daughter of Walter and Doris (Desplainas) Wickman. She was raised and educated in Whitesboro and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School.  On September 2, 1967, Joyce was united in marriage with James P. Clark, Sr. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Whitesboro, a loving and devoted union of 45 years until James’ death in March 2013.  At one time, Joyce was employed with Bradley’s Department Store in New Hartford.  Joyce had a love for animals, especially her cats, and her greatest joy in life was her beloved family.  She was of the Catholic faith.

     Mrs. Clark is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, James, Jr., and Jennifer Clark of Deansboro, NY, William Clark of SC and Michael Clark of SC; six cherished grandchildren, James “Jay” Clark, Jesse (Chloe) Clark, Amber Clark, Sara Clark, Matthew Clark and Cody Henderson; an adored great grandson, Oliver James, who brought Joyce great joy over the past three months, as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Jodi Clark and an infant brother, Theodore George Wickman.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Mrs. Clark’s graveside memorial service on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Olivet Cemetery Chapel, 70 Wood Rd., Whitesboro, NY.  Please omit floral offerings and consider make a donation to the Rome Abraham House, 417 N.
