Obituary of Stanley Joseph Tarkowski
Mr. Stanley “Stosh” Joseph Tarkowski, 60, of Schuyler, NY, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the Hospice Abraham House in Rome, with his loving family by his side.
Stanley was born in Utica, on March 4, 1963, the son of Stanley F. and Mary J. (Moore) Tarkowski and received his education in Utica schools. Stanley was employed with Willow Park Assisted Living Facility in Utica. He was an avid horse racing enthusiast and enjoyed watching golf, nascar, going to the casino and playing cornhole with family and friends. He was of the Catholic faith.
Mr. Tarkowski is survived by his loving companion, Rose Jock of Schuyler; two step-daughters, Lisa Jock of Watertown and Theresa (Timothy) Alberry of Utica; step-son, Todd (Sherry) Jock of Remsen; four cherished grandchildren, Caleb (Alexa) Jock, Alexander (Olivia) LaCombe, Amanda LaCombe and Rhiannon Alberry; one adored great granddaughter, Elmira; two sisters, Mary (Tom Borgia) Rosato and Karen (Robert) Thierry; two brother, Patrick (Catherine) Tarkowski and John Tarkowski as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Michael (Vickie) Tarkowski and James Tarkowski.
Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, followed by a prayer service at the conclusion of visitation. He will be laid to rest in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville at the convenience of the family. Mr. Tarkowski’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Stosh’s dear friends, Peter Erhardt, John Nassimos Gene Primola, Tony Calicchio and John Bukovan for the many years of friendship you shared with him. A special thank you to Stosh’s nieces, Michelle and Kerry and stepdaughter, Theresa and her husband Tim Alberry, as well as the staff of the Abraham House in Rome for the wonderful care and compassion you provided to Stosh. Your love and kindness will not be forgotten.
