Obituary of Jean Marie (Spatuzzi) Kinsella

     Mrs. Jean Marie (Spatuzzi) Kinsella, 91, of N. Utica, New York, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at MVHS-St. Luke’s Campus in New Hartford, New York with her loving family by her side.

     Jean was born in Utica, New York, on August 29, 1931, the daughter of William and Helen (Mierzwa) Spatuzzi.  She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Proctor High School. On April 18, 1953, Jean was united in marriage with John (Jack) M. Kinsella.  John passed away in 2003.  For many years, Jean was employed with SUNY Institute of Technology in Marcy, New York, retiring in 2000.  Jean was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church in N. Utica. She loved her trips to the casino with family and friends, going out to eat at local restaurants, attending Broadway plays, visiting Alexandria Bay, New York as well as visiting family in New York City.  Jean’s greatest joy was spending time with her adored family.

     Mrs. Kinsella is survived by one daughter, Michelle Hughes and her husband, Dennis of Clinton, New York; one son, Stephen Kinsella and his partner Mark Montgomery of New York City; two cherished grandchildren, Amber Sahbudak and her husband, Basar of Florida and Brett Hughes and his wife, Santina of North Carolina; four adored great grandchildren, Ava, Alyssa, Akin and Landon; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Robert and Patricia Spatuzzi of Utica, New York and Gary Spatuzzi of Utica, New York as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister, Kathleen Ann Spatuzzi; brother, William Spatuzzi and sister-in-law, Maureen Spatuzzi.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Jean’s memorial Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 422 Coventry Ave. in N. Utica.  She will be laid to rest in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville, New York.
